ATTRACTION & RETENTION OF LATINX TALENT
Marcia’s journey is truly an American story - a North and South American one. Born and raised in Chile, she came to the U. S. in 2005 to pursue her graduate studies and has lived here since.
The immigrant experience demonstrated to Marcia firsthand what it means to not feel included and not be heard - which informs her work.
Blending her personal experience with her professional expertise, she now makes it her mission to pave a better road for up-and-coming Latino talent, including her bilingual 11-year-old boy.
In 2018, Marcia founded AmMore Consulting to focus her passion for elevating the Latino professional community and help organizations Get Ready, Get Latino-Ready™ by changing cultures and systems to increase Latino inclusion and representation at all levels.
Latino-Ready organizations are equipped to effectively attract, retain and advance Latino talent to succeed and thrive. This will only become increasingly more important as Latinos continue to grow into a major segment of the U.S. workforce.
Through her work with AmMore, Marcia has received multiple awards for her leadership, including the 2023 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan, 2023 YWCA Women of Achievement and the 2023 Girl Scouts of NEO Women of Distinction. Other recognitions include the 2021 Crain’s Women of Note, Notable Immigrant of the Year (Global Cleveland & Crain’s, 2020), LeadDIVERSITY Alumni of the Year (Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio & PWC, 2020). In 2021 she was awarded first place by the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Business Center Adelante Business Pitch Competition. She was also recently selected as one of the 75 business nationwide to receive the ”Unfinished Business” award presented by Hennessy.
Marcia has a background in communications and obtained her master’s degree in Applied Communications from Cleveland State University. She is a 2009 graduate of LeadDIVERSITY, she is a sought-after DEI thought leader, and is continually building her subject-matter expertise through ongoing training and certifications. Her drive for more inclusive and equitable environments energizes her involvement in local organizations, including the Greater Cleveland Partnership, The Council of Small Enterprises, Cose, University Circle Incorporated, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Young Latino Network, College Now, Global Cleveland, and more.
At the core of AmMore’s mission is a drive to help Latino professionals grow, develop, and succeed in Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Marcia has a special affinity for making Latino immigrants, like herself, feel welcomed, visible, included, and heard. Marcia frequently shares her own journey with her clients and their employees and transforms conversations into bridges that connect companies to “hidden” talent, often talent already within their own ranks and community.
In 2020, AmMore launched the inaugural "100 Latinos Cleveland Must Know” program.
This visibility and opportunity platform showcases local Latino talent in Northeast Ohio. The initiative, on its fourth year, has become THE LARGEST network of Latino professionals in the region and has created exposure and a myriad of opportunities for the Latino professionals included on this list.
Marcia Moreno is a Latina, entrepreneur, wife, and mother on a mission to open pathways between Latino professionals and businesses seeking to Get Ready; Get Latino-Ready™.
